The right pH is of great importance for the efficiency and the stability of the chlorine. An acid pH renders it aggressive and volatile. An elevated pH means a too fast decay. Only a well balanced chlorine content ensures a good water quality. And the key to a stable chlorine content is the pH. The control and adjustment of the pH therefore is the first and most important step to a good management of the swimming pool.

Negative effects of a too low pH:
Chlorine becomes volatile and disappears into the atmosphere,
More chlorine has to be added, so extra costs are to bear.
Irritating to eyes, nose and skin

The effects of an elevated pH:
Precipitation of insoluble chemicals the water becomes cloudy and murky.

The same precipitate on sand filters and reduce their efficiency. The decay of chlorine to inactive chloride is accelerated. More chlorine must be added in order to maintain the activity of the chlorine system. More aggressive to skin and eyes.


Directions for use: The calculated quantity of pH regulator is dissolved in a sufficiently big enough amount of water. The solution is then carefully distributed on the surface of the pool by means of a spray hose or a watering can. This operation is best carried out in the evening after closing time. No bathing allowed afterwards.  The circulation system is switched on.  A pH check at various spots, before opening time the next morning, should be carried out.

Important notes: If the swimming pool water shows over 8 or well under 6.5 the dosage quantities are to be adjusted. In these cases, higher amounts are needed.

STRONG BUT SAFE OXIDIZING AGENT: ALTERNATIVE TO SUPERCHLORINATION
It oxidizes organic and inorganic compounds. Once these impurities are removed, less chlorine is wasted for their oxidation and the bulk of chlorine is available again for the germ killing.Q-OXO removes especially the finely dispersed particles that are otherwise difficult to filter off the water. Q-OXO AS SHOCK TREATMENT
It is the ideal chemical to be used for shock treatment instead of cyanuaric acid.
It acts as a strong oxidizer against the so called “Bather Waste”, merely organic matter.
It also works as a powerful disinfectant.
If the standard chlorine treatment is done as usual, the use of Q-OXO for the shock treatment will sharply reduce the input of unwanted compounds.
Less fresh water is needed. Furthermore all unpleasant side effects of over chlorination can be avoided.
No dechlorination like aftershock chlorination, no downtime for the pool.

Directions for use:
Dose and frequency for swimming pools:

20 g/1 m3                                    once a week for preventive pool care.
                                                      As shock treatment after heavy use, rain and wind storms.
Higher doses may be used in commercial pool applications and more frequently.  

Dose and frequency for spas:

30 g – 60 /1 m3                          oxidize with non-chlorine shock after each use.
                                                      Check the pH and use pH plus to maintain alkalinity.

Q-CHLOR must not be mixed with acids, organic material and oxidizing chemicals. Do not mix products if not recommended in the technical bulletin.
